On October 9, 2026, two separate aviation accidents occurred in Minas Gerais, Brazil, resulting in four fatalities.

In Santana do Paraíso, a Beechcraft Super King Air 300 operated by the Minas Gerais Military Police (PMMG) crashed during a mandatory training flight. The crash killed three officers: Lieutenant Colonel Luis Fernando Silvestre, Lieutenant Gabriela Emília Soares Lacerda Resende, and Lieutenant Alice dos Santos Almeida. Governor Mateus Simões described the loss as a “significant blow to the state’s aviation command,” noting that Lieutenant Resende was the first woman in the PMMG to be qualified as a fixed-wing pilot.

Earlier that same day in Belo Horizonte, an Embraer EMB-711ST belonging to Bello Fruit crashed in a maintenance yard of the Belo Horizonte Metro. The pilot, Daniel da Silva de Souza Salomão, died in the impact after the aircraft struck a warehouse and electrical wiring.

The Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa) and the Civil Police have launched investigations into the causes of both incidents.
