An Air India Express flight traveling from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to New Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on a Monday evening following a bomb threat.

A crew member discovered a piece of tissue paper in the aircraft’s lavatory with the word “bomb” written on it. Subsequent reports specified that the message included the text “Bomb RED 4:30” accompanied by a drawing of a bag.

All 32 to 40 passengers and eight crew members were safely deboarded and frisked at Terminal 2. Security agencies, including the Central Industrial Security Force and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, conducted a thorough search of the cabin, seats, and cargo hold, but reported that “nothing suspicious was found during the inspection.”

The aircraft has since been cleared for operations. Authorities are investigating the incident as a suspected hoax and are working to identify the individual responsible for leaving the note. The diversion triggered standard security and sanitation protocols at the airport.
