The Municipality of Bahía Blanca has initiated an integral road reconstruction plan to address significant pavement deterioration. Mayor Federico Susbielles reported that approximately 60% of the city’s pavement was expired at the start of his administration in December 2023, a situation exacerbated by flooding and windstorms.

To date, the city has reconstructed 74 intersections and is currently working on 18 additional strategic points using new concrete slabs. These infrastructure projects involve paving, milling, and curb reconstruction. Public Works Secretary Gustavo Trankels stated that the technical process requires demolishing deteriorated slabs and rebuilding the structure from the base to ensure long-term durability.

The works have resulted in several street closures and modifications to public transport routes, including temporary changes to bus lines 513 and 507.
