During Baku Climate Action Week, international leaders and regional officials focused on transitioning from climate negotiations to the implementation of tangible projects and securing necessary finance. He noted that the challenges of securing climate finance and technology are further complicated for nations facing economic and energy blockades. During the summit, the Cuban delegation specifically highlighted how the economic and energy blockade imposed by the United States complicates the island’s ability to respond to extreme weather events and strengthen essential infrastructure in sectors such as water, agriculture, and health.
