Under the theme “Gestures that build peace,” the initiative involves over 160,000 volunteers operating across 12,000 supermarkets throughout Italy. Donations of non-perishable goods, such as oil, legumes, canned vegetables, rice, and breakfast products, will be distributed through a network of more than 7,500 partner organizations to support over 1.7 million people facing poverty or fragility nationwide. Regional preparations are underway. In Lucca, the organization is seeking volunteers for various retail locations. Local coordinator Marcello Lippi noted that the organization has previously collected approximately 32 tons of food through a network of 32 volunteer associations. The municipality has provided a warehouse near Lucca Plus to facilitate the collection and distribution of goods. In the Brescia region, provincial coordinator Enrico Baruzzi reported that approximately 3,000 volunteers will be deployed across 250 supermarkets. All food collected in Brescia will remain in the province to benefit 112 local associations. In Sicily, the network supports 322,121 people through 834 partner organizations. In Liguria, the event is expected to involve over 7,000 volunteers across more than 440 supermarkets to assist more than 63,000 people. To mark the milestone, a commemorative event titled “Gesti che costruiscono pace” is scheduled for November 7 in Catania. The collection coincides with the 10th World Day of the Poor on November 15. ## Timeline ### 2026-11-06: Italy Food Drive: National Food Collection Day set for November 14 Italy's 30th annual Food Collection Day will take place on November 14, utilizing thousands of volunteers and hundreds of supermarkets to gather non-perishable goods for families in need. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/italy-food-drive-national-food-collection-day-set-for-november-14 ### 2026-11-04: Italy to host 30th National Food Drive on November 14 Italy will hold its 30th National Food Drive on November 14, mobilizing thousands of volunteers in thousands of supermarkets to collect non-perishable food for people in need. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/italy-to-host-30th-national-food-drive-on-november-14 ### 2026-11-02: Italy celebrates 30th anniversary of National Food Collection The 30th National Food Collection will take place on November 14 in 12,000 Italian supermarkets to support over 1.7 million people in need through donations of non-perishable food items. 13 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/banco-alimentare-celebrates-30-years-of-food-collection-initiative ### 2026-10-30: Banco Alimentare launches 30th National Food Collection The 30th National Food Collection by Banco Alimentare will take place on November 14, involving 160,000 volunteers in Italy to collect non-perishable goods for those in need. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/banco-alimentare-launches-30th-annual-food-drive-in-italy --- Cite as: Banco Alimentare 30th National Food Collection.
