Banco Popular has inaugurated its new corporate headquarters in the Metropolitan Building and a new service concept called BP Total Catedral in central San José. 

The new facilities focus on a digital-first model, featuring a ‘Technological Lobby’ designed to promote digital education and self-management. Services include digital service desks, self-service screens, and an ‘Asesor Online’ service that allows customers to access 57 different procedures via video calls with specialists. To assist with the transition to digital tools, the bank is employing digital promoters and service guides.

Management noted that this shift follows data from the first half of 2026 showing that approximately 92% of transactions and 69% of total transaction amounts were conducted through digital channels. While embracing digitalization, the bank stated it intends to maintain human advisory services to ensure inclusivity.
