Authorities in Bangladesh have initiated several anti-terrorism investigations following incidents of political unrest and security breaches.

In early September, Mohibullah Mubin was remanded for five days after allegedly attempting to breach the security perimeter of Prime Minister Tarek Rahman during a political event at the Bangladesh Agricultural Institute. Police filed charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act, suggesting that Mubin and unidentified accomplices intended to “disrupt the event and create instability.”

In a separate legal action, a Dhaka court granted remands for former MP Mahfuzur Rahman Mita and his driver, Golam Mawla Selim, in connection with an illegal procession near the Mohakhali Bus Terminal. The investigation follows allegations that the group, including members of the banned Chhatra League, used crude bombs and chanted anti-state slogans to create instability.
