Nigerian musician and entrepreneur Bankole Wellington, known as Banky W, has transitioned into new roles as a pastor and educator following his unsuccessful 2023 bid for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat.

Wellington has marked his first anniversary in ministry, noting that his political defeat prompted a period of spiritual reflection. He currently serves as an associate pastor and global ambassador at We Are Union Church, while also acting as a teacher and leader at Union College in the United States.

Wellington has stated that these new responsibilities represent an expansion of his purpose rather than a departure from his previous career. He intends to continue his work in music, film, and business alongside his spiritual and educational roles, despite the logistical challenges of traveling between Lagos and the United States.
