To resolve a failure in the tender process for student transport—caused by rising fuel, vehicle, and operating costs making previous contracts unsustainable—the administration has introduced a temporary reimbursement plan. This allows families of secondary-level students with disabilities to claim mileage reimbursements for using personal vehicles based on Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) rates and actual attendance. Councilor for disability policies Italo Carelli stated, “When students and families face complex journeys, the first duty of institutions is never to leave anyone alone.” To ensure long-term service continuity, a new tender with increased financial resources has been launched.

Regarding physical infrastructure, the municipality has conducted approximately 800 routine maintenance tasks in schools and nurseries since June, including painting, plumbing, and electrical updates. These works, managed by Barimultiservizi, are intended to continue through the summer break. Furthermore, an extraordinary 2.77 million euro plan remains in effect to target 130 school buildings for priority upgrades, specifically focusing on waterproofing and canteen improvements.
