The Basel region is implementing new sports-related infrastructure and digital resources. IG Sport Baselland has launched baselbieter-sport.ch, a multimedia web portal featuring news, a podcast, and a historical database of regional sporting achievements. 

Additionally, to mitigate the impact of renovations at the Bäumlihof sports halls, Messe Basel will provide a temporary 2,000m2 sports area in Basel-Stadt. This facility is scheduled to support local clubs, specifically handball teams, from October 12, 2026, through December 12, 2027, though it may be subject to temporary clearance for major exhibitions.
