Local administrations, such as the Pfaffenhofen district, are distributing guides from the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance to encourage citizens to maintain reserves of food, water, medicine, and documents. Additionally, the Johanniter organization is promoting private preparedness to reduce pressure on emergency services during large-scale incidents, including the development of specialized units for chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear hazards. Parallel efforts to assess resilience have highlighted specific vulnerabilities within the agricultural sector. A survey of over 16,000 Bavarian farms revealed uneven preparedness regarding power outages, water shortages, and supply chain disruptions. While poultry farms show high rates of emergency power supply, cattle farms lag behind. Conversely, cattle holdings maintain significantly higher feed reserves than poultry operations. The Bavarian State Chancellery noted that dairy farming remains particularly vulnerable to interruptions in milk collection during prolonged crises. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-13: Bavarian farmers show uneven preparedness for crisis scenarios A survey of 16,000 Bavarian farms shows uneven crisis preparedness, with significant gaps in emergency power and feed reserves for poultry and cattle operations. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/bavarian-farmers-show-uneven-preparedness-for-crisis-scenarios ### 2026-10-08: Bavarian authorities promote emergency preparedness and disaster resilience Emergency services and local authorities in Bavaria are promoting disaster preparedness, advising citizens to maintain food, water, and medical supplies to assist during large-scale crises. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/bavarian-authorities-promote-emergency-preparedness-and-disaster-resilience --- Cite as: Bavarian disaster preparedness and resilience.
