The Baylor women's basketball program transitioned from alumni engagement activities to competitive play in late 2026.

In early October, the program announced its 2026 Alumni Weekend, scheduled for November 14 and 15. The event was designed to feature former players through activities such as breakfast with coaching staff, practice observations, and facility tours.

By late October, the team moved into its unofficial 2026-27 season, securing a 96-56 exhibition victory against West Texas A&M. The win was characterized by a defensive performance that forced 30 turnovers, with Lorena Awou leading the team with 19 points.
