The religious community honored Maria Ignazia Isacchi, founder of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through a series of ceremonies in Italy. On October 10, 2026, Isacchi was beatified during a solemn rite at the Basilica of Sant’Andrea in Mantua. The ceremony, presided over by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, included the reading of an apostolic letter and the presentation of her relics. Cardinal Semeraro characterized her spiritual life as a “path of obstacles” defined by trials and misunderstandings, yet noted her steadfast trust in the Gospel. Following the beatification, a thanksgiving Mass and procession were held at the Cathedral of Sant’Andrea in Asola to mark the return of her remains. The event was attended by religious leaders, including Bishop Marco Busca and Monsignor Francesco Beschi, as well as various civil and military authorities. During the proceedings, Monsignor Beschi described her life as a “consistent testimony to the teachings of the Gospel,” while Asola Mayor Moreno Romanelli praised her strength of spirit. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-18: Asola holds ceremonies for the return of Blessed Mother Maria Ignazia Isacchi's remains The Cathedral of Sant’Andrea in Asola hosted a solemn Mass and procession for the return of the remains of Blessed Mother Maria Ignazia Isacchi to her community. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/asola-holds-ceremonies-for-the-return-of-blessed-mother-maria-ignazia-isacchis-remains ### 2026-10-10: Maria Ignazia Isacchi beatified in Mantua Mother Maria Ignazia Isacchi, founder of the Ursuline Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was beatified in Mantua, Italy, in a ceremony led by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/maria-ignazia-isacchi-beatified-in-mantua --- Cite as: Beatification and commemoration of Maria Ignazia Isacchi.
