Musical institutions across Europe and South Korea are organizing various programs to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death in 2027.

In Italy, the Rete Orpheus has planned the “Beethoven 2027 – La musica oltre le barriere” event for May 2027, which intends to combine symphonic traditions with contemporary musical theater. In South Korea, the 15th annual Korea Piano Festival is focusing its 2026 programming on the composer, featuring his five piano concertos and piano sonatas.

Further preparations in Europe include a recital by Marseille Concerts in France centered on Beethoven’s works in C minor.
