Musical interest in Ludwig van Beethoven has been highlighted through various performances and recordings. Pianist Igor Levit began a project at the Musikverein in Vienna to perform a complete cycle of Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas, a series structured across eight concert evenings.

In anticipation of the 2027 bicentenary of Beethoven’s death, additional works are being spotlighted. These include a recording by Kirill Gerstein and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe featuring all six piano concertos, including the early, incomplete Piano Concerto No. 0. Additionally, Penelope Crawford has released an interpretation of Beethoven’s final three piano sonatas using a period-accurate 1835 Conrad Graf fortepiano.
