The samba school Beija-Flor de Nilópolis has begun the selection process for its 2027 Carnival samba-enredo. The theme, titled ‘Zeneida: O Sopro do Pó de Louro’, honors the life of Zeneida Lima, a 92-year-old pajé, educator, and environmentalist from Marajó Island.

Following an initial elimination round where ten compositions were presented and seven advanced, the school moved toward a grand final. This final stage features four songwriting partnerships competing for the title, including three local works and one composition from the Pará-based school Bole-Bole.
