The municipality of Belford Roxo has introduced several social and educational programs. In local schools, the ‘Sala Lilás’ (Lilac Room) program was implemented in partnership with the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro to address gender violence, racism, and discrimination through educational lectures for students. Concurrently, a meningitis vaccination campaign was launched in Heliópolis targeting adolescents and young adults.

Furthering educational infrastructure, the municipal administration is constructing a second Municipal Bilingual School in the Heliópolis neighborhood. This facility, intended to accommodate 1,000 students, follows the earlier inauguration of the Engenheiro Belford Roxo (Global School), which provides instruction in Portuguese, English, and Libras.
