In Belgium, consumers are being encouraged to review their telecommunications subscriptions to manage costs and improve connection quality as internet usage increases.

While the IBPT requires operators to inform customers at least once a year regarding more suitable offers, these recommendations are frequently overlooked because they are often “buried in digital invoices.” Although there were previous proposals to automate the transfer of customers to more advantageous tariffs with explicit consent, these measures have not been implemented due to complexity.

To assist users, the IBPT has developed measures requiring operators to compare offers across all their brands to help consumers find more competitive pricing and better services.
