A 26-year-old nurse, identified as Madhumita, remains in critical condition following a violent assault in Bengaluru. The victim was attacked by her estranged husband, Venkatesh (also referred to as Venkateshan), near a clinic in J.P. Nagar.

According to police reports, the assailant approached the victim on a motorcycle and chased her into a cellar parking area. The attack involved the use of acid—specifically identified as floor cleaner acid—and repeated strikes with a machete and a knife in public view. While bystanders attempted to intervene, the attacker used weapons to ward them off.

The suspect was apprehended by a traffic police officer. Authorities believe the attack was motivated by a family dispute and are continuing their investigation.
