Following a destructive derecho storm in Northwest Indiana that caused at least seven deaths and significant flooding, the BeyGOOD Foundation has donated $200,000 toward recovery efforts. 

The severe weather system produced hurricane-force winds and tornadoes, leaving many residents in Gary without power and basic resources for up to two weeks. The disaster resulted in a federal major disaster declaration and left more than 1,000 people unhoused. 

The donated funds are designated for the City Life Center and Angel by Nature to facilitate the distribution of food, household supplies, and other essential resources to the hardest-hit communities.
