The multi‑sector “Estate Sicura” campaign, launched in summer 2024 and running through 2026, has broadened its scope beyond tourism‑safety inspections to a wide range of public‑order, environmental and labour‑law enforcement actions across Italy.

In August 2026, enforcement intensified in coastal and tourist regions. On the island of Ischia, Carabinieri utilized electric scooters and e-bikes to patrol narrow streets and beaches, leading to the arrest of a man for possessing hashish and marijuana intended for retail sale. Other Ischia operations included a drunk driving charge involving a Ukrainian national, the identification of an unauthorized tourist rental, and the seizure of 30 kilograms of food in Forio due to microbiological contamination risks. In Massa Lubrense, the Coast Guard seized restaurant equipment at Marina del Cantone beach following the discovery of illegal occupation of maritime state property.

Broader regional enforcement continued with significant criminal interventions. In Catania, a 36-year-old man was arrested for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy. In Caserta, police seized an illegal mechanical workshop used for storing illicit spare parts and improperly disposing of special waste; the local Questura also issued preventive measures, including mandatory departure orders and urban area bans for individuals deemed socially dangerous.

Additional operations included arrests for drug trafficking in the Palermo hinterland, a violent robbery in Enna, and various drug and alcohol-related enforcement actions in Crotone, Macerata, and Trieste. In Crotone, police conducted extensive territory controls, inspecting commercial activities for labor and administrative violations.
