Tensions have risen among contestants in the 23rd season of Big Brother. Initial conflicts involved housemate Rochelle Rackham, who engaged in confrontations with Philip Regan regarding his sexuality and had a dispute with Johanne over the preparation of undercooked chicken.

Following these interpersonal frictions, a new nomination twist introduced by the production caused further division. Housemates were organized into groups to decide which individual would lose their nomination rights for the week. This process intensified existing feuds, specifically between Johanne and Rackham, leading to arguments and frustration during the deliberation sessions.
