Black Democratic candidates are participating in various U.S. midterm and gubernatorial election contests. In Florida, Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Angie Nixon is challenging Republican Senator Ashley Moody for an appointed seat. In Arkansas, candidates for municipal and federal offices, including Rev. Benny Johnson, have begun coordinating political strategies.

At the gubernatorial level, several Black candidates are campaigning in key states. In Nevada, Attorney General Aaron Ford has secured the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican incumbent Joe Lombardo. Other notable campaigns include former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in Georgia and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley in Wisconsin. If successful, these individuals would become only the fourth and fifth Black Americans elected as governors in U.S. history.
