Blizzard Entertainment released ‘Forsaken Kingdom’, a major campaign expansion for Warcraft III: Reforged, via a shadow-drop at BlizzCon 2026. The expansion features over 30 hours of gameplay and utilizes a soft-open-world RPG structure to explore the fall of Lordaeron and the rise of the Undercity.

Initial release details included Patch 3.0, which introduced a ‘Definitive Edition’ graphics mode and a new neutral hero, though the update drew criticism for removing LAN functionality and requiring an always-online connection for single-player play.

Subsequent reviews of the expansion highlighted its shift away from traditional real-time strategy elements toward narrative, exploration, and hero progression. While the expansion received praise for its high-quality cinematics and tactical innovations inspired by Diablo, critics noted mixed results regarding mission length and difficulty balancing.
