Developments: 3. British indie-pop band Blossoms has released their sixth studio album, ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’. Produced by Shawn Lee at Tile House Studios, the ten-track record explores themes of marriage, domestic life, and long-term relationships through 80s-inspired funk, disco, and indie-pop elements. The album features collaborations with Rick Astley on ‘Joke About Divorce’ and Declan McKenna on ‘Additional Driver’. Following its release, the album reached number one on the UK Official Albums Chart, marking the band’s fifth time at the top of the charts and celebrating a decade of commercial success. In mid-week chart positions, the group appeared alongside notable acts, including The Beatles’ ‘Rubber Soul’ reissue and Johnny Marr’s ‘The Age Of Everything’. Frontman Tom Ogden noted the significance of being ranked alongside musical icons from Liverpool and Manchester. Ogden described the album as a reflection on marriage and the ‘extraordinary ordinary’ aspects of daily life. The title serves as a tribute to the band’s hometown of Stockport, referencing the local town hall nickname, the ‘Wedding Cake’, where Ogden was married. The band is scheduled to perform a major headline arena tour across the United Kingdom. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-08: Blossoms reach number one on UK Official Albums Chart Blossoms have hit number one on the UK Official Albums Chart with ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’, placing them alongside The Beatles and Johnny Marr in recent chart rankings. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/blossoms-reach-number-one-on-uk-official-albums-chart ### 2026-10-02: Blossoms releases sixth studio album ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’ British indie-pop band Blossoms has released their sixth album, ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’, exploring themes of marriage and domestic life through 80s-influenced funk and pop. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/blossoms-releases-sixth-studio-album-songs-from-the-wedding-cake ### 2026-09-27: Blossoms release sixth studio album ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’ Blossoms has released their sixth album, ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’, a stylistically diverse record recorded on tape featuring guest appearances by Rick Astley and Declan McKenna. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/blossoms-release-sixth-studio-album-songs-from-the-wedding-cake --- Cite as: Blossoms sixth studio album release.
