American golfer J. J. Spaun won the BMW PGA Championship at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, England, finishing at 17-under par. The victory was secured following a dramatic final round where Spain’s Manuel Elvira, who had been in contention after an eagle on the 17th hole, suffered a double-bogey on the 18th hole.

Elvira’s performance on the final hole resulted in a four-way tie for second place at 15-under par, including Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, and Aaron Rai. Following the event, discussions emerged regarding the tactical decisions made by Elvira and his caddie on the par-five 18th. While some questioned the choice of club, veteran caddie Matt Chivers defended the strategy, attributing the outcome to a poor swing rather than club selection.
