Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has faced scrutiny regarding his playing style despite a winning start to the season. Initially, Nix addressed social media criticism concerning his conservative approach, stating he prioritizes winning over statistical performance and noting that maintaining a positive mindset is a ‘mental battle’.

Following a 17-14 overtime victory against the Seattle Seahawks, analysts continued to critique his performance. Ryan Fitzpatrick remarked that Nix was ‘not playing competitively’ and described his play as ‘almost disrespectful to the quarterback position’, suggesting a lack of trust from the coaching staff. Additionally, Tony Gonzalez characterized the Broncos' offense as ‘anemic’, implying that recent defensive successes have shielded Nix from being benched.

In response to Fitzpatrick’s comments, former Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib defended Nix while criticizing Fitzpatrick’s own professional history. Despite the external criticism, the Broncos hold a 4-2 record and internal support for the quarterback appears stable. Wide receiver Courtland Sutton expressed full support for Nix, noting that the locker room remains united. Furthermore, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that there are ‘no questions in the building about Nix’s competitiveness, drive and ability to get things rolling again’, indicating the organization remains confident in his leadership.

Nix recently emphasized the importance of enjoying victories as the team prepares for a matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Following a 23-17 comeback win against the Los Angeles Chargers, where he recorded 123 passing yards and 10 rushing yards, Nix reiterated his focus on winning over individual statistics.

On October 25, the Broncos extended their winning streak to three games with a 30-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Nix contributed 222 passing yards and 73 rushing yards, highlighted by a career-long 62-yard touchdown run.
