Tourism workers at Xuma Beach in the Yalıkavak district of Bodrum have initiated a strike to protest labor exploitation and poor working conditions. 

The All Hotel and Tourism Workers Union (OTIS) stated that employees have been working shifts as long as 18 hours, particularly during concert days. Workers are demanding the transparent calculation and full payment of unpaid overtime, alleging that recent payments contained unclear “overtime” and “bonus” items that do not accurately reflect hours worked beyond legal limits.

Furthermore, OTIS reported that the employer terminated several employees without severance pay, citing Article 25/II of the Labor Law. The union contends these terminations are unjustified and serve as an attempt to bypass legal demands.
