Electronic music producer Bonobo, also known as Simon Green, announced his eighth studio album, ‘Distance in Static’, scheduled for release on September 11, 2026, through the Ninja Tune label. The project follows his 2022 album ‘Fragments’. 

The album features a diverse array of international vocal collaborators, including Arooj Aftab, Nilüfer Yanya, Joy Crookes, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis, and Aanya Martin. Musical elements include vocals in English, Urdu, and Japanese, as well as historical Iranian samples and Chinese Guzheng recordings. 

Green recorded parts of the album in London, Tokyo, and Los Angeles, including time spent at Neil Young’s Broken Arrow Ranch. The work is intended to bridge the gap between Green’s downtempo roots and his club-oriented DJ sets. Released singles include ‘Talk to Me’, ‘Always on Your Side’, ‘Fire on the Water’, and ‘Me And You’.
