The Boran-8 International Sniper Competition, organized by the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command, began in the Foça district of İzmir at the Retired Gendarmerie Colonel Mehmet Remzi Kızılsu Shooting Range. The event features 48 teams, including 36 teams from 19 friendly and allied nations and 12 domestic teams from various Turkish security branches such as the Land Forces, Naval Forces, and Special Forces Command.

The competition includes various shooting stages, such as perception, hostage, night, and infiltration drills, intended to facilitate the sharing of counter-terrorism experiences. On October 16, the event transitioned to ‘Elite Observer Day’, which featured demonstration shooting and aerial displays. During these demonstrations, snipers from the Gendarmerie Commando Special Operations Command performed precision shots from ‘Çelik Kanatlar’ helicopters in the presence of high-ranking military officials.
