Borussia Mönchengladbach is experiencing internal disciplinary tension following a 3-4 Bundesliga loss to Mainz. The conflict arose during stoppage time when forward Shuto Machino refused to yield a penalty kick to team captain Kevin Dykstra, who had missed a previous attempt earlier in the match.

Although Machino successfully converted the penalty, the incident caused significant friction. Media reports described the situation as a ‘serious disciplinary problem’ for the club, which currently sits at the bottom of the league standings.
