In mid‑July 2026, Bosnia‑Herzegovina’s Presidency Chairman Denis Bećirović began a series of visits to municipalities in the country’s east and central regions. On 18 July, he travelled to Goražde at the invitation of Mayor Ernest Imamović, emphasizing the city’s industrial potential and the need for new investment, infrastructure upgrades, and better employment and education opportunities for young people. He linked balanced regional growth to long‑term stability.

Five days later, on 23 July, Bećirović visited the Ilijaš municipality, meeting mayor Amar Dovadžija and his delegation. The discussion covered ongoing and planned infrastructure, education, economic, and social projects. Accompanied by diplomatic adviser Nerkez Arifhodžić and cabinet chief Dr. Alija Kožljak, the delegation paid tribute at a war‑memorial and toured the local brigade exhibition. Bećirović concluded the visit by speaking with residents regarding everyday concerns.

By mid-August, the focus on national development and heritage expanded. Bećirović advocated for the reconstruction of the ZAVNOBiH building in Sanski Most, describing the war-destroyed site as vital for preserving the country’s anti-fascist heritage. This occurred amid broader political debates regarding economic stability, as SDA President Bakir Izetbegović called for significant monthly investments and job creation, proposals which the SDP dismissed as unrealistic.
