Botswana is pursuing various institutional partnerships and training initiatives to foster social rehabilitation, economic development, and digital literacy.

In August 2026, the Botswana Prison Service signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boitekanelo College to improve prisoner rehabilitation and staff development through practical training in nursing and psychosocial support. Simultaneously, the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre and the Botswana International University of Science and Technology established a five-year agreement to link university research with investment to accelerate the nation’s STEM economy.

Furthering these development goals, the Botswana School of Business Sciences and the Botswana National Youth Council completed a joint ICT certification programme. This initiative provided digital literacy, artificial intelligence, and employability training to out-of-school youth in Gaborone to help bridge the digital skills gap.
