# BR-277 highway infrastructure and safety improvements

The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has initiated several infrastructure and safety improvements for the BR-277 highway in Paraná, Brazil.

To facilitate road duplication and the addition of lanes, ANTT authorized land expropriations across a 27.7-kilometer stretch involving the municipalities of Paranaguá, Irati, and Palmeira. These works are being managed by concessionaires Via Araucária and EPR Litoral Pioneiro. 

Following these developments, EPR Litoral Pioneiro began installing 41 additional speed control radars on federal and state highways, including specific new locations on the BR-277 in the coastal regions of Paranaguá and Morretes. This expansion, approved by ANTT and coordinated with highway police, targets areas identified as having high accident risks.
