Data from the Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) regarding the 2026 elections highlight significant demographic concentrations in Brazil. In Marabá, Pará, women constitute a slight majority of the 179,484 eligible voters, representing 51% of the electorate. In Pernambuco, the Recife Metropolitan Region holds a substantial 41.7% of the state’s total voters.

As the election cycle progresses, political candidates are actively working to expand their regional support bases. In Pernambuco, Miguel Coelho, a candidate for federal deputy representing União, has secured support from political leaders in Abreu e Lima to strengthen his presence in the Recife Metropolitan Region following his previous terms as Mayor of Petrolina.

In the Sertão region, state deputy candidate Batista Cabral (PSB) has held meetings in Arcoverde, accompanied by federal deputy candidate Luciano Pacheco (MDB), to strengthen the Frente Popular's presence and align his candidacy with the political project led by João Campos.

Meanwhile, Marília Arraes of the Workers' Party is currently the “isolated leader in opinion polls for the Senate in Pernambuco.” Despite this, she is actively strengthening her campaign through strategic regional alliances and field visits. Arraes recently secured the support of Josafá Almeida, the mayor of São Caetano, who confirmed that his entire political group will back her candidacy to ensure increased investment in the Agreste region.

Arraes has also been campaigning in the Mata Sul region alongside other members of the Frente Popular coalition, including gubernatorial candidate João Campos (PSB) and Senator Humberto Costa (PT). Her itinerary included visits to Ribeirão and Xexéu, as well as a visit to the Metalúrgica Barra do Piraí (MBP) factory to engage with local workers and commerce.
