The National Council of Justice (CNJ) has authorized the use of electronic signatures from the gov.br platform for judicial documents, including powers of attorney. Under this ruling, users with silver or gold level accounts may use these signatures, provided they are verifiable through the National Institute of Information Technology (ITI).

The CNJ determined that the lack of a traditional ICP-Brasil digital certificate is not sufficient grounds for the automatic refusal of procedural documents. While judges retain the authority to request additional verification if authenticity is doubted, the measure aims to facilitate access to justice by removing technological barriers.

Furthermore, the CNJ regulated the use of electronic extracts for legal transactions involving real estate through Provision No. 228/2026. This standardization is intended to simplify procedures for notaries, financial institutions, and housing entities, with expected benefits for rural credit operations by reducing delays in establishing guarantees.
