The Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), via the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), has initiated a public consultation to identify Mercosur products that support the conservation, recovery, and sustainable management of forests and vulnerable ecosystems.

The goal is to compile a list of Brazilian sociobiodiversity products and production chains that align with the objectives of the Mercosur-European Union Free Trade Agreement. Products identified through this process may receive preferential or additional access to the European Union market, alongside other trade promotion incentives.

Contributions are being sought from academia, civil society, and the productive sector. Interested parties can submit input through the Brasil Participativo platform until September 2, 2026.
