By July 2026, Brazil reached 5.87 million international arrivals for the year-to-date, again marking the second-highest figure in the country’s history. Air travel remained the primary driver, accounting for 68% of arrivals. While visitors from Argentina and the United States saw declines, growth was robust in strategic markets, including China (+64.5%), Colombia (+33%), and Peru (+18.8%). Embratur president Bruno Reis stated the country is experiencing a period of “solidity in international tourism,” noting that proactive promotion helped offset decreases in land-based travel from Argentina.
