A São Paulo court has ordered influencer Bruno Aiub, known as Monark, to pay R$ 100,000 in collective moral damages. The ruling by Judge Adriana Cardoso dos Reis follows comments made by Aiub in 2022 regarding the legal recognition of a Nazi party in Brazil.

The court determined that freedom of expression does not protect “antisemitic manifestations.” The funds are to be directed to the State Fund for the Defense of Diffuse Interests (FID). Aiub’s defense has announced intentions to appeal, maintaining that the comments did not constitute support for Nazism.
