In São José dos Pinhais, the municipal and state governments are expanding leisure areas in several neighborhoods, such as Cruzeiro and Guatupê, featuring amenities like synthetic grass football fields and playgrounds. This effort is supported by the Centro da Juventude, which provides free workshops in sports, culture, and technology for youth aged 12 to 29. In other regions, similar revitalization projects are underway. In Presidente Prudente, the inauguration of a revitalized area in Vale das Parreiras included new basketball equipment, fencing, and community amenities funded by federal resources. Meanwhile, in Ribeirão Pires, outdoor gym equipment is being relocated from Parque Oriental to the Ayrton Senna Complex to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, while the original site is being repurposed for children’s leisure. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-24: Local government initiatives launch leisure and sports infrastructure improvements in Brazil Municipalities in Brazil are revitalizing public spaces, including a renovated leisure area in Vale das Parreiras and the relocation of outdoor gym equipment in Ribeirão Pires to improve accessibility. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/local-government-initiatives-launch-leisure-and-sports-infrastructure-improvements-in-brazil ### 2026-09-28: São José dos Pinhais expands youth leisure and sports infrastructure São José dos Pinhais is expanding public leisure spaces and sports infrastructure to promote outdoor activities and reduce youth screen time, supported by long-standing community programs like Centro da Juventu 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/so-jos-dos-pinhais-expands-youth-leisure-and-sports-infrastructure --- Cite as: Brazilian municipal leisure and sports infrastructure.
