Investigations into Brazilian elected officials have surfaced involving various allegations of misconduct.

In Ceará, the Federal Police conducted a search and seizure operation against state deputy Felipe Mikael Vasques Monteiro as part of ‘Operação Aletheia’. The investigation focuses on alleged electoral crimes, embezzlement, and the misuse of municipal communication staff for self-promotion. The operation also targets a suspected scheme involving the redirection of public tenders and contract fraud for engineering works, estimated to exceed R$ 43 million through the use of shell companies.

Separately, a preventive arrest warrant was issued for state deputy Emerson Freitas regarding an investigation into alleged extortion in a domestic violence case. While the defense claims the investigation is politically motivated following Freitas’s social media denunciations of organized crime, authorities continue to seek his arrest.
