Various state traffic departments in Brazil are organizing public auctions for vehicles and automotive scrap.

In Acre, Detran-AC has scheduled an online auction for August 28 to sell approximately 56.2 tons of ferrous scrap metal from roughly 55 vehicles. This auction is restricted to entities with specific environmental licenses for recycling and links to steel mills.

In São Paulo, Detran-SP is holding an online auction starting August 25 for vehicles seized in Vargem Grande do Sul and six other regional cities. The sale includes 129 drivable vehicles, 304 lots of scrap for parts, and 212 lots of unusable scrap intended for recycling or smelting.

In Bahia, Detran-BA is conducting multiple online auctions. Following initial announcements for auctions on August 17 and August 21 involving 438 lots across cities like Salvador and Feira de Santana, a new auction (Notice No. 18/2026) has been launched for seized vehicles in Itabuna, Itaberaba, and Serrinha. 

The Bahia auction includes 17 vehicles in Itabuna, such as a Chevrolet Celta and Hyundai HB20, with bids starting between R$ 400 and R$ 4,600. In Itaberaba, a Fiat Doblò EX is available with a starting bid of R$ 2,000. The final bidding session for this specific auction is scheduled for September 15, 2026, with in-person inspections permitted between September 8 and September 14.
