In October 2026, the municipality of Brežice engaged in various local cultural and administrative activities. The month began with the Brežice October festival, which included a traditional mayor’s goulash competition near the Water Tower. The event featured ten teams and aimed to unite local tourism societies, with the Kapele Tourism Society winning the culinary competition.

Later in the month, the Brežice Municipal Council held a ceremonial session at the Posavje Museum to present municipal awards. During this session, Mayor Ivan Molan addressed the conclusion of his four-year mandate, reviewing municipal progress in areas such as healthcare infrastructure, schools, transport, water and sewage networks, and flood protection.
