Uruguayan footballer Brian Rodríguez recently addressed his decision to remain with Club América in Mexico despite interest from European clubs. He explained that he requested a pause in negotiations with the Dutch club Ajax to focus on the Leagues Cup, citing his happiness with the team and support from club officials.

Following his decision to stay, Rodríguez signed a contract extension with Club América that runs through 2030. While describing his time at the club as a ‘privilege’, he noted that he would not rule out a future move to Tigres due to personal friendships and the stadium atmosphere, though he clarified such a move would only be considered if he were no longer part of the América squad.
