Sources: 16. Developments: 2. Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams released a protest song titled “Lake Ontario” in response to an executive order by US President Donald Trump to rename the Great Lake to “Lake America.” The renaming occurred following trade and tariff disputes between the United States and Canada. In the song, Adams highlights the historical and Indigenous roots of the original name, specifically referencing the Iroquois name for the lake. He suggests the renaming serves as a distraction from other political matters, such as challenges in Iran and the Jeffrey Epstein files. Adams stated the track is a message to “all the sane people on both shores” regarding the temporary nature of political regimes. The song is a bonus track on his upcoming album, “How’s It Goin’,” which is scheduled for release on November 6. This release follows his previous protest song, “51st State,” which addressed comments regarding Canada potentially becoming a 51st US state. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-30: Bryan Adams releases protest song over Lake Ontario renaming Singer Bryan Adams released “Lake Ontario,” a protest song targeting Donald Trump’s executive order to rename the lake “Lake America” during trade disputes with Canada. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/bryan-adams-releases-protest-song-lake-ontario ### 2026-10-28: Bryan Adams releases song criticizing Trump's renaming of Lake Ontario Bryan Adams released “Lake Ontario,” a new song criticizing Donald Trump’s executive order to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America, calling the move a political distraction. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/bryan-adams-releases-song-criticizing-trumps-lake-ontario-name-change --- Cite as: Bryan Adams protest songs regarding US-Canada tensions.
