The Mayor of Sector 1 in Bucharest, George Cristian Tuță, has signed a contract for the design and execution of modernization works for the Turda Passage. The project is scheduled to last 12 months.

Beyond surface repairs, the modernization will address the structural integrity of the passage. Planned upgrades include renewing finishes, stairs, and sidewalks, as well as improving lighting, water drainage, and video surveillance systems. To improve accessibility for elderly individuals, parents with strollers, and people in wheelchairs, elevators will be installed at all four entrances.
