The budget smartphone market is seeing a focus on entry-level hardware and specific usability features. HONOR recently introduced the Play 20A and Play 10 models, which utilize MediaTek processors and prioritize large battery capacities, such as 6,000 mAh for the Play 20A and 5,000 mAh for the Play 10.

The HONOR Play 20A features a secondary rear-panel screen for notifications and media controls, alongside a MediaTek G81 processor and a 6.9-inch 90Hz display. The Play 10 utilizes the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset and runs on Android 15 Go Edition.

Market trends indicate a broader shift where budget-friendly devices prioritize battery longevity and display quality over high-end processing power. For example, the Honor Magic 8 Lite features a 7,500 mAh battery and a 1.5K resolution screen, while the Realme C73 emphasizes daily usability with a 6,000 mAh battery and a 120 Hz refresh rate screen.

Recent releases from other manufacturers continue this trend. Oppo introduced the A53s, featuring a 90 Hz refresh rate display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor. Realme launched the C01, which emphasizes high capacity with a 6,500 mAh battery, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a UNISOC T7250 processor.
