The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) is in negotiations to appoint Brazilian coach Sylvinho as the head of the Bulgarian national football team. BFU President Georgi Ivanov planned to meet with Sylvinho in Milan to discuss a potential role, with the intention of having a permanent appointment in place by January 1.

While Atanas Ribarski was set to remain the temporary head coach through the end of the year to oversee Nations League fixtures, reports regarding the Sylvinho negotiations have been inconsistent. Some reports suggest a potential record-breaking annual salary of 1 million euros for the coach, with total costs for his staff potentially reaching 1.5 million euros. However, other media outlets have contested these claims, stating that the appointment was not officially on the agenda and that Sylvinho was not the definitive candidate.
