The Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation (BFTF) has resolved a leadership blockade following the withdrawal of the final legal challenge by the Hristo Bachvarov club from Sliven.

This legal dispute had halted federation activities after Asen Zlatev was elected president in December 2025. While other clubs, including Apollon and CSKA, had previously withdrawn their complaints with the Sofia City Court, the Hristo Bachvarov club was the last to contest the election results.

With the removal of these legal hurdles, the BFTF is expected to resume normal operations and secure funding from the Ministry of Youth and Sport, shortly before the World Weightlifting Championships in Ningbo, China.
