In mid-September 2026, the Generalitat Valenciana held the eighth edition of the ‘Va de Bous’ awards, recognizing various figures in both arena bullfighting and traditional street festivities. Recipients included picador Francisco Ponz Agenjo, bullfighter José Pacheco Rodríguez, breeder Germán Vidal, and the Aída Jovani ranch, among others. Officials noted these contributors aid in the “economic and cultural revitalization” of the Valencian territory.

By late September, bullfighting activities continued in Algemesí during the Setmana de Bous fair. However, the event held on September 21 was characterized by lackluster performance from the El Añadío bulls, which failed to engage bullfighters effectively. While Tomás González showed caution following a previous injury, Eduardo Ruiz de Velasco received two rounds of applause for his composure despite the uncooperative livestock.
